caBIG® releases JIRA 4.0
The NCI caBIG® program has announced the launch of JIRA 4.0, a new issue tracking and project management tool. JIRA is designed to help manage software development by tracking bugs, projects and processes and managing development cycles and testing efforts. JIRA helps create reports around issue lifecycles and the overall development progress. All NCI CBIIT teams and Knowledge Center staff will use JIRA to manage their software development issues once rollout and implementation are complete, but the tool is open source and is publicly available for download and use by interested parties at http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA040/Home.
A series of JIRA demo sessions and tutorials are currently under development. The training schedule is available at NCI CBIIT JIRA Wiki page, along with a full description of the JIRA application and frequently asked questions about how to perform common tasks: https://wiki.nci.nih.gov/display/CommonProjects/JIRA.
JIRA can be accessed at https://tracker.nci.nih.gov.
