NCI Launches Comprehensive Biospecimen Resource Website
The Cancer Human Biobank (caHUB) was created in response to a critical shortage of high-quality, clinically annotated biospecimens, which are essential to the development of molecularly-based cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. caHUB is working in conjunction with the caBIG® community to develop an informatics architecture that is interoperable with caBIG® tools and technology, ensuring that caBIG® participants from all sectors may gain access to high-quality human specimens and data, as well as to analyses, scientific tools, and services.
The NCI Office of Biorepositories and Biospecimen Research (OBBR) has developed a new website that hosts a variety of resources for the general public, professionals who work with biospecimens, potential partners, healthcare professionals, and patients.
Website features include:
- Videos from thought leaders in the field of biospecimens.
- Information about funding and partnership opportunities.
- Reports for scientific, policy, and advocacy communities.
- Progress updates on this initiative to improve cancer research.
